Muhimbili National Hospital 132 Vacancies, June 2022

The Origins of Muhimbili National Hospital(MNH) was established back in the year of 1910 to 1920’s known as ‘Sewahaji Hospital.

 In the year of 1956 the name was changed to ‘Princess Margareth Hospital’. Soon after the independence in the year of 1961 it was named as Muhimbili Hospital to the year 1976 when it changed to the Muhimbili Medical Centre.

Muhimbili Hospital(MNH) was established by the MNH ACT of the Parliament No. 5 of the year 2000 by the separation of the Muhimbili Medical Centre(MMC) into Muhimbili Hospital and Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences(MUCHS), now Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences(MUHAS). The Separation were affected in November 2004. 

The essence of separating the ‘Muhimbili Medical Hospital(MMC) and MUCHS’ were to make the Muhimbili National Hospital(MNH) more efficient to become the accredited center of an excellence for the hospital care in Africa by the year 2015, providing the conducive teaching environment for the training medical and the allied health personnel, become the renown center of the medical research in Africa, continuously developing its human resources; achieving the financial sustainability; to promote the aims of the health sector reform by the strengthening links with the other levels of care in the referral system.
