1. Al Ahly – Egypt

Al Ahly Sporting Club (The National Club), commonly referred to as Al Ahly, is an Egyptian professional sports club based in Cairo. It is one of the most successful football clubs in the world based on total trophies won in many years. Its professional football team plays in the Egyptian Premier League, the top tier in the Egyptian football league system. The club was founded on 24 April 1907, as a gathering place for Cairo’s Student Unions.

Al Ahly has a record of 42 national league titles, 37 national cup titles and 11 national super cup titles, making them the most decorated club and biggest club in Egypt. The club has never been relegated to the Egyptian Second Division. Al Ahly is considered the most successful team in Africa and is one of the continent’s giants

2. Wydad Athletic Club

Wydad Athletic Club  commonly referred to as Wydad AC and known as Wydad, or simply as WAC, is a Moroccan sports club based in Casablanca. Wydad AC is best known for its professional football team that competes in Botola, the top tier of the Moroccan football league system, they are one of three clubs to have never been relegated from the top flight in Africa.

Founded on 8 May 1937 by seven Moroccans belonging the national movement for independence, led by Mohamed Benjelloun Touimi. They initially focused on water polo to give indigenous Moroccans the right to access swimming pools before Mohamed Ben Lahcen Affani – also known by the nickname of “Père Jégo” (“Father Jégo”) – created the football clubs section in 1939 in that period. he was the first manager of the team.The club has traditionally worn a red home kit since inception.

3. ES Tunis

Espérance Sportive de Tunis , also known as ES Tunis and Espérance ST, is a Tunisian sports club based in Bab Souika neighbourhood of Tunis, Tunisia. The club was founded in 1919, thus being the oldest active football club in Tunisia and its traditional colours are red and yellow in their jerses and tools. They play in Olympic Stadium Hammadi Agerbi. The club is mostly known for its football team, which is currently playing in the Tunisian Professional League 1 and is one of the most popular and biggest clubs in Tunisia and is considered one of the continent’s giants.

4.Raja Club Athletic

Raja Club Athletic (Raja CA or RCA) or Raja Casablanca or simply Raja  is a professional football club based in Casablanca, Morocco, that competes in Botola, the top flight of Moroccan football Nations.

Founded in 20 March 1949 in the district of Derb Sultan,the club has traditionally worn a green home kit since inception in the Nation. Raja CA is a well known club for the success of its football section, very popular in and outside the country. Raja sits at the Raja-Oasis Sports center for training, The team has played its home matches in the 67,000 capacity Stade Mohammed V in downtown Casablanca since 1955.Unlike most African sporting entities, Raja’s members have  operated the club throughout its history.

The club is one of the most widely supported teams in Africa. Raja is one of three founding members of Botola that have never been relegated from the top division since its inception in 1956, along with Wydad AC and AS FAR.The club holds many long-standing rivalries, most notably in the Casablanca Derby with Wydad AC and The classico with AS FAR as the co,peting clubs in the country.

5. RS Berkane

Renaissance Sportive de Berkane commonly known as RS Berkane for short, is a Moroccan sports club based in Berkane, Morocco. The club’s football team is currently playing in the first division of Moroccan championship Botola. The club finished in 2nd  place in the Botola( 2) in the 2011–12 season, which led to the promotion to the first division to this team.


6.Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club (sundowns)

Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club (simply known as Sundowns) is a South African professional football club based in Mamelodi, Pretoria in the Gauteng province that plays in the Premier Soccer League, the first tier of South African football league system. Founded in the 1970s, the team plays its home games in the Loftus Versfeld Stadium and Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in different games international and League games.

Sundowns have won the Premier League title a record 12 times since its inception in 1996 and hold the joint record of 3 National Soccer League Championships. It is currently the most successful football club in the South African PSL era. They won the 2016 CAF Champions League, 2017 CAF Super Cup and were voted the 2016 CAF Club of the Year. Domestically, they have also won the Nedbank Cup six times and got trophies, the MTN 8 four(4) times and the Telkom Knockout four times. 

7.TP Mazembe

Tout Puissant Mazembe was originally founded by the Benedictine monks who directed the Institut Saint-Boniface school in Élisabethville (modern-day Lubumbashi) in Katanga Province. The missionaries originally decided in 1939 to established a football team for the students’ Boy Scout troop, named Saint Georges FC, after the patron saint of the Scouting movement in the Club. 

This team affiliated itself directly in the first division of the Royal Federation of the Native Athletic Associations (Fédération Royale des Associations Sportives Indigènes, FRASI) founded by the Belgian King of the club. At the end of the season, Holy Georges placed 3rd

8. Zamalek Sports Club

Zamalek Sporting Club , commonly referred to as Zamalek, is an Egyptian sports club based in Cairo. It is one of the most successful football clubs in Africa and the Middle East, and was the most titled African team in the 20th century. The club is mainly known for its professional football team, which plays in the Egyptian Premier League, the top tier of the Egyptian football league system.

The club was founded on 5 January 1911 as Qasr El Nile Club and was first headed by the Belgian lawyer George Merzbach. The name was changed two years later to Cairo International Sports Club (C.I.S.C.),colloquially El Qāhirah El Mokhtalat Club or El Mokhtalat Club. The club was renamed in 1941 after King Farouk of Egypt and became known as Farouk El Awal Club (transl. Farouk I Club). After the 1952 Egyptian revolution, the club changed its name again to Zamalek

Pyramids Football Club  is an Egyptian professional football club based in Cairo that competes in the Egyptian Premier League, the highest league in the Egyptian football league system.Formed in 2008 as Al Assiouty Sport in Beni Seuf, the club was bought and moved to Cairo in 2018. Pyramids FC play their home matches at the 30 June Stadium. 

10. Étoile Sportive du Sahel

The Étoile Sportive du Sahel , is a sports club from Sousse in the Sahel region of Tunisia, known primarily for its football and basketball team. The club also has sections for handball, volleyball, judo and wrestling. ESS was founded on 11 May 1925 after a general meeting under the chairmanship of Chedly Boujemla, Ali Laârbi and Ahmed Zaklaoui, at the headquarters of the Association of the ancient French-Arab School in Laroussi Zarouk Street, in the heart of the old town of Sousse. 

The aim of the meeting was to establish a sports education society. The Tunisian flag was chosen in the selection of the colors of the team. The red shirt with the star and the white shorts. The French colonial authorities prevented the use of these colors, but with the insistence of the team leaders they prevailed and in the latter they played this kit. In English the name means Sport (or AthleticStar of the Sahel (coast)

Simba Sports Club is a football club based in Kariakoo, Dar es Salaam Tanzania,

Founded in 1936, the club, which broke away from another Tanzania Giants, Dar Young Africans was named Queens, in honor of her Majesty, the Queen of England. The Club had several name changes from Queens to Eagles, then, Sunderland. In 1971 they were renamed Simba (Swahili for "Lion").

Simba SC is the second biggest club in Tanzania measured by fan base and social media activity behind only their rivals Young Africans SC (Yanga), Simba SC have won 21 league titles and five domestic cups, and have participated in the CAF Champions League multiple times. They are also one of the biggest clubs in East Africa, having won the CECAFA Club Championship six times.

Nicknamed Wekundu wa msimbazi, Simba play their home games at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium. In 2022, Simba were the fastest growing Instagram account among football clubs, with 3 million followers and a growth of 89% from the previous year.

Simba SC is amongst the most followed African clubs on social media platforms with more than 5 million followers across all social media. In March 2022, the club announced to join TikTok and earned more than 10,000 followers in just 3 days. The club is also considered as one of the richest club in East Africa, with a total budget of Sh 5 Billion (equivalent to $2.1 million) unveiled for the 2019/2020 season
